Territory Underwriter

Central , TN

As part of the Underwriting and Marketing team, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for spearheading the growth for a regional book of commercial business. In addition to acting as the face of Central Insurance throughout the market, this person will also be highly visible throughout the entire organization and poised to make an immediate, noticeable impact. A strong analytical background coupled with an outgoing, client-facing personality will significantly contribute success in the role.

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years Marketing or Underwriting experience with a property and casualty company and must have a minimum of 1 year of Commercial Underwriting experience
  • Possess a positive, professional, cooperative, and quality conscious service attitude that upholds Central's core values of integrity, relationships, and excellence
  • Ability to rate personal and commercial lines
  • Ability to complete required training programs
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to make a favorable impression in all dealings with agents
  • Available for extensive travel including overnight travel
  • Ability to organize and control work schedule
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Middle Tennessee
  • College degree preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a territory that will produce the budgeted volume and policy count of profitable lines of business
  • Use pricing and binding authority to produce increasing premium volume and policy count of profitable lines of business
  • Act as liaison between agencies and the Company
  • Prospect for and make new appointments based on prototype requirements
