Chief Financial Officer
Community & Economic Development
Smith & Wilkinson has been retained by The Business Finance Authority to manage the search for their next Chief Financial Officer. The Business Finance Authority (BFA) was created in 1992 to foster economic development and create employment in New Hampshire. The BFA accomplishes these objectives by working with New Hampshire’s banking, business, and economic development sectors to develop and implement programs which expand the availability of credit in the state. Our customers include manufacturers, small and medium-sized businesses, health providers, and non-profit educational and cultural organizations.
We are looking for an experienced finance and accounting professional to oversee all aspects of financial management including organizational accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities will also include financial risk management and supervision of the BFA’s annual outside audit process.
The CFO is responsible for handling accounts payable and receivable, maintaining payroll, recording data in a computerized accounting system and performing monthly tasks such as preparing income statements and balance sheets.
The CFO also provides planning information to the BFA management team and board of directors, tracks organizational cash flow to assist in management of assets and liabilities, and contributes to strategic discussions within the organization.
