Information Security Officer

Community & Regional Banks

South Easton, MA

S&W has been retained by North Easton Savings Bank (“NESB”) to manage the search for the bank’s first Information Security Officer.

Founded in 1864, NESB is an exceptionally well run, progressive community bank in southeastern Massachusetts. The bank is mutually chartered, meaning that they are owned by their depositors, and do not have shareholders. This Main Street instead of Wall Street business model allows the bank to take a long-term view of success focused on helping customers, employees, and communities prosper. North Easton Savings Bank is committed to a mutual ownership structure, with the stated belief in putting “customers and communities ahead of profits.”

Following the retirement of its President & CEO in 2018, NESB elected to merge with Whitman, Massachusetts-based Mutual Bank, a community bank of similar size and ownership structure that served contiguous markets and shared important cultural values. In April of 2019 NESB and Mutual Bank received regulatory approval to officially become one bank, with the merger being completed on November 1, 2019 with the conversion of core systems. With the merger, Mutual Bank’s President and CEO, Richard Spencer, was selected to serve in the same capacity for the combined entity.

Today, the bank operates 19 retail locations throughout southeastern Massachusetts and serves both consumer and small business customers with a full suite of both traditional and online products and Services. NESB is in strong financial condition with good earnings, asset quality, efficiency, and capital. The bank is also an excellent corporate citizen with a rich history of charitable contributions to area non-profits.

Reporting to the bank’s FVP, Director of IT, the bank’s first Information Security Officer (“ISO”) will be responsible for the development and ongoing fulfillment of this essential function. The ISO will lead the bank’s efforts in safeguarding critical information through a collaborative approach to working across the organization with key stakeholders as well as with external partners. We are seeking experienced information security professionals with demonstrated expertise in a highly regulated industry such as banking for this entrepreneurial community banking role. Successful candidates will have a high level of energy and a hunger to challenge the status quo.
