Vice President, Commercial Credit Manager

Community & Regional Banks

Torrington, CT

Due to the ongoing growth of its Commercial Lending division, Torrington Savings Bank (“TSB,” has retained S&W to manage the search for the bank’s first Vice President, Commercial Credit Manager. In both a state and an industry that has experienced tremendous consolidation, TSB’s approach to prudent balance sheet management and conservative growth has positioned the bank well to continue to serve its customers and the communities where it does business for generations to come. Having celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2018, not only is TSB one of Connecticut’s oldest banks, but it is also one of the state’s best capitalized banks with 19.66% core capital for the period ending December 31,2020. In 2019, the bank announced the appointment of long-time employee Lesa Vanotti as President, who became President & CEO in 2020. Additionally, the bank also created two new Senior Management roles, hiring both its first Chief Lending Officer and its first Chief Information Officer. Today, TSB is an approximately $894MM mutual bank with 9 retail locations (including a recently renovated Main Office) serving consumer and small business customers throughout western and central Connecticut and beyond. The bank is also an outstanding corporate citizen, having donated over $290,000 to over 225 area nonprofits and individuals through its charitable foundation in 2019. Reporting to the SVP, Chief Lending Officer, the Vice President, Commercial Credit Manager will lead a small team of Commercial Credit Analysts and support a growing Commercial Lending department that is expanding its lending capabilities into new geographies, industries, and loan types. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Credit professional to grow a division within a long-standing community bank with a fortress balance sheet. We are seeking well-rounded Commercial Credit professionals who value a collaborative and team-oriented culture for this leadership role.
