Smith & Wilkinson is thrilled to be partnering with Evernorth in its search for a proven affordable housing finance leader to fulfil the Senior Vice President of Financial Services role. In exciting recent news, Evernorth has been announced as the new nonprofit organization that unites Housing Vermont and Northern New England Housing Investment fund. With joined resources a geographical footprint to include Vermont, Maine, and New Hampshire, the organization and the new SVP Financial Services will work to provide affordable housing and community investments, building on the combined 30-year history of raising and deploying over $1 billion in equity capital and building more than 13,000 affordable homes for low and moderate income people.

 

The Senior Vice President of Financial Services is responsible for broadening and maintaining strong alliances with investment and business partners across the organization’s geographic footprint, leading origination of investment opportunities, and overseeing underwriting and project-level deal structuring. The position is actively involved in the growth and management of financial consulting services. Key competencies include real estate development, finance, underwriting, project management, organizational skills, staff management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Serving as a member of the senior staff, the Senior Vice President Financial Services is responsible for promoting the organizational mission to its partners and the public through a variety of means.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • 10 years experience managing complex investment projects
  • Sound real estate development and financial management skills
  • Superior leadership skills
  • Relationship management experience
  • LIHTC and MNTC experience, affordable housing development and operations, and/or investment or commercial banking experience preferred.
