Children’s Museums exist to encourage imagination, creative play, and community involvement; the Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine is no exception. This unique organization located in Portland, Maine is dedicated to inspiring Maine’s children of all ages. The Children’s Museum strives for community engagement and cultural enrichment for Maine families to promote a more connected community. The Children’s Museum has been awarded numerous honors over the years and has become a focal point for many families in southern Maine and New Hampshire. It is also the home of the oldest continually operating children’s theatre in the United States.
As a nonprofit organization, the Children’s Museum relies on charitable giving from individuals and businesses to help fund the programming that supports so many families. Smith & Wilkinson is proud to be a sponsor of the Museum’s annual fundraiser featuring both a live and silent auction, which this year has the theme of “Every Child is an Artist”. All ticket sales and sponsorships benefit the Museum’s exhibits and educational programming as well as the Museum’s scholarship memberships that are awarded to families in need throughout southern Maine.
At Smith & Wilkinson, our families are fundamental to our own success and many members of the S&W team have children who enjoy the programming offered by the Children’s Museum. We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back to this important community establishment and we encourage you to consider attending the auction, to be held on Friday, May 13 2016. Tickets are still available through the Children’s Museum website, where you can also learn more about the Museum’s mission, exhibits and positive impact on the Portland community. You can also purchase tickets by calling (207) 828-1234 ext. 242.
